Natural
Health Schools
With the steady rise in popularity of
Naturopathy treatments, around a 100 million Americans
choose naturopathy over conventional treatments
annually. To meet this steady rise in demand, natural
health schools have grown across the world to help
accredit practitioners and help patients choose which
doctors to go to. The growth has been to such an extent
that many institutions even offer online degrees.
With the extraordinary number of courses offered and the
variety of possible career options, becoming a
Naturopathy practitioner is now considered as serious a
profession as any other. Colleges offer courses ranging
from massage therapy and nutrition to homeopathy and
mind healing, while at the same time concentrating on
the core sciences that all doctors are required to take,
such as anatomy and physiology. By gaining a degree from
one of the many natural health schools, one can partake
in one of the many professions that are open to
graduates of conventional medical degrees. By opening
their own practice, giving classes or acting as
consultants, the worldwide acknowledgement and
reputation of Naturopathy practitioners has seen a
steady rise. Today many institutions offer one or two of
the more popular courses, such as massage therapy, while
certain institutions, such as the Clayton College of
Natural Health, offer a much wider variety of degrees.
Ever since the opening of the National College of
Naturopathic Medicine in Portland in 1956, natural
health schools have been gaining recognition and growing
steadily in numbers. The school was one of the first to
provide Naturopathic principles and practices in
conjunction with medical sciences and training,
resulting in doctors that were expertly trained in both
fields and able to provide expert opinions regarding
both courses of treatment. Additionally the introduction
of a 4 year course has done wonders for the credibility
of a naturopathic practitioner.
